Up on the house top......

So I guess it has been two weeks since we have posted anything.... Where does the time go! We have been very busy getting ready for Santa to come to our house. Brylie walks around the house singing Jingle Bells, sings here comes Santa in the car, pretty much sings everywhere so that Santa will hear her and bring lots of presents. She has been trying extra hard to be a good girl (we tell her Santa's Elf's are watching and we have even gone as far as calling Santa) and she is doing a good job. Gizmo is even trying to be good!

Brylie decorated our first Watt family Christmas tree, didn't she do a good job! Rocky HATES our star because it makes our tree tip and he has to fix it and I guess that is not an easy thing to do, so if you come to our house there is a pretty good chance our tree will be tipping. We also took Brylie to the Layton lights. She loved walking around looking at all the animals. She is getting to the stage where she likes to make funny faces when taking pictures so that explanes her face. She is still in dance and tumbling and loves it. Rocky and I just finished one more semester of school and I only have ONE more left until I am an RN (YAHOOOOOOOO). Basically that is all we have been doing, sorry for the late blog. We hope everyone is having a happy Holiday Season!

The Proverbial Man Card...

I've been looking and looking for what my next post would be about. I must have been looking too hard, because the perfect subject has been all around, and I've missed it. Everybody's seen what the latest generation of "men" are wearing lately. I'm talking about the sickly looking kids who have borrowed their sisters pants and their dad's old wallet chains and who waddle instead of walk because their pants are around their thighs. I'm not quite sure how their parents let them out of the house, but I'm pretty sure these are the same parents who give their kids trophy's even if they lose. The fairy's in the girl jeans have apparently never been taught the old "Man Law", but from the looks of their clothes, they wish they were girls anyway.

Now that I got that out, I'd like to talk about Man Cards. Everybody's heard of the proverbial "Man Card". It's what all men brag about having, synonmous with "wearing the pants, signing the checks, what I say goes, etc". Truth be told, if you're married, there's a pretty good chance you turned it in by saying "I Do". While you may still be in denial, chances at some point after the honeymoon (the point of no return), you've had to buy tampons, pick up bra's, wash dishes, or some other blatent violation of the Man Law.

Here are 3 basic rules any man should know, and if not you're following them, maybe Santa will bring you some nice new hair ribbons to go along with your girl jeans:

1. MEN DO NOT WEAR PINK. If you have a shirt that you call salmon, light red, reddish, or any other word for PINK, you're in direct violation. Even if you try to hide it under a black golf sweater jacket (you know who you are), pink is pink. I'm pretty sure when ask any man what he thinks about when you say "pink", the first word that comes to mind is another one that starts with a P and is synonomous with cat. No matter what any girl tells you, pink is not black. Get rid of it. (the only exception to this rule are neck ties)

2. MEN DO NOT READ ROMANCE NOVELS. Yes, this includes the new Twilight Series. If you're a guy and you've read the Twilight Series, repent, and go rent Rocky 1-5, or any other Stallone film series to recoup your lost testosterone.

3. MEN DO NOT WAX THEIR EYEBROWS OR GET FACIALS. Now I'm ok with a little "man scaping" here and there. Trimming or shaving body hair is ok in my book. Lord knows Britt would never have looked at me twice if I looked like Sasquatch in a rubber band when I wore my speedo on our honeymoon ;). However, the line is drawn at going to beauty salons and getting your eyebrows professionally waxed and shaped, or getting your face exfoliated or whatever they call it. Man up, get some tweezer and pull the unibrow out. Waxing is for girls, keep it that way.

There are a lot more rules that go along with the Man Law, but in the interest of time, I've posted the 3 that seem to be getting ignored lately. If you're one of the violaters, get your act together, or pick up some Lee jeans at your local Hot Topic store.

R First Christmas Tree

After a month or so of searching, we finally found a christmas tree we liked. I wanted a real one, but Britt thinks they stink (yeah, she's nutz) yata yata yata, we have a fake tree in our front room =). We went to a few stores to look at some, but didn't really see anything we liked. I decided to watch KSL for one and yahtzee! Britt, Bry, and myself put the tree up tonight. There aren't any ornaments yet, so don't judge us! We'll post some more pics once we find ornaments we like.

For all of you who think it's too early to be getting ready for christmas, we've got two words for ya.......Merry Christmas!
PS...Check out my wife's new bangs! Hot huh? Picture courtesy of the Munchkin. =)

I need your vote!

So.... it seems that everyone lately is saying on their blogs "vote for this" and "vote for that" so I am going to do my own little vote. Rocky says I should say vote if the music is lame or not but we all know it is (Rocky picked). Just kidding honey, love you! But seriously here is what I am thinking. I am getting my muchly needed hair done on Wednesday (YAHOO) and four long months but I need a change. I am in a rut and getting board so I am thinking.... Bangs.... like Reese Witherspoon bangs. So I need your opinion on if I should do it or not. I might get extensions too so keep that in mind when you are voting. Thanks for the imput and I will post pics on Thursday or Friday or Saturday or whenever so you can see the results!

...And then there was Bry

Brylie has been just as busy as her mom and Rocky lately. We put her in dance and tumbling and she is loving every minute of it! At any given moment you can hear sounds of high school musical, tinkerbell, and other delightful songs that she has engraved in her mind from watching those shows over and over. ( I once restarted Shrek 4 times in 1 day =). She is loving preschool and is starting to become more and more like her mom. Last week while getting her ready for school, she felt that her clothes "weren't pretty" so decided to change them......4 times. It was a real treat. Here are some pics of the latest pics :

My baby is getting BIG!!

My baby started preschool.... Isn't she sooo dang cute. Rocky has to get her ready because I am at school by the time she has to be there. Isn't he doing a GREAT job! She loves loves loves school. She told me that it is better then her old school (it was just a day care) and she has only been there 2 days. She loves wearing her school clothes. She will come home from school and change her clothes so that she can keep her special clothes nice for school. She is having fun!
She is growing up so fast. She is becoming a really nice helper. She helps me fold clothes and do dishes. They don't stay little very long. Next thing I know she will be wearing a little cheer skirt! We are also looking into getting her into dance and tumbling, she is way excited for that! She has already taught herself how to do a cartwheel, it is the cutest thing to see her try, it brings a tear to my eye.

Rocky and I also started school.... not so fun. We are both full time and we fight for the computer but we will figure it out! For me, school is going to be time-consuming but worth it. I should have my RN by the end of this year!!!!! It's about time, I know I know.

Case and Point.

Warning: Rocky wrote this, read at your own risk.

Gather 'round everybody and let me tell you a little story about a boy named Jericho Scott. Jericho is your typical 9 year old boy, loves to play with his friends, and play sports, especially baseball. Now when you're 9, you're coordination and motor skills are not necessarily at their peak, making sports sometimes awkward, but fun nonetheless. Jericho however is special. He has a great arm and a great pitching ability. He can throw a perfect strike at 40 mph! For a 9 year old, that is incredible. Now you can imagine that this kind of pitching ability can make hitting tough for the teams that face this young Nolan Ryan. Tough, not impossible! However, the league feels differently. Due to his extreme talent, the league administration has told Jericho and his coach that HE IS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO PITCH BECAUSE HE IS TOO GOOD!! Yeah, you read correctly, he is so good at pitching that they won't let him pitch. This is a PERFECT example of the WUSSIFICATION of AMERICA. We don't want the other kids to feel bad, so we punish the good kid. This is outright embarassing and disgraceful. This is exactly the mentality that has this country going down the road we're headed, and nobody is trying to stop it. Why not let him pitch and bring the other kids UP to his level, rather than punish him for being damn good. Can you imagine the confidence boost a kid would get once they did get a hit off of Jericho? America used to dominate all aspects of athletics, but once again, the "coddle the fat kid" mentality has crept its way back in to plain sight and nobody cares. Absolutely disgusting.

Guilty.......

So I feel guilty, let me tell you why. Yesterday I was cooking dinner (yes I was actually cooking, I only do it once a week) and I was watching my poor husband working out in the yard and I thought “I really do have it good!” The reason why I thought this was because I was in a nice air conditioned house watching TV while my husband was out working in the desert (or our backyard) getting stung by bees and ran down by black widows. I then decided that my husband still treats me like a princess and I am very lucky!
For an update on our family we finally are home from all our vacations and ready to start school. Brylie starts school on Sept. 2nd and she is soooo excited. We went school shopping for her and she was so fun. She picked out a Princess backpack and her favorite outfit is her Hannah Montana shirt and pants. She asks me every day if she gets to go to school tomorrow and gets mad when I tell her not yet. I start school on Monday….again….. but I am almost done so I am excited. Rocky is also starting school, working on the yard as mentioned earlier, and being a new father. He gets really tired but is doing a great job. I think that is all that is going on at the Watt house!

Heights!!!!!

Brylie reminds me of myself more and more every day. She started to get freckles like her mama, she loves it outside especially at Bearlake and she HATES heights. We went to Raspberry days at Bearlake and all of the little girls we were with wanted to do the little ride were you jump on the tramp attached to bungee cords. I knew Brylie wouldn’t like it but she had to do it so I let her. She was doing ok just jumping on the tramp but as soon as the cords went up and she got higher so started freaking out and saying “Let me down, let me down!” She was terrified. So we got her down and she told me she did not like going that high. We went to the fair the next day and she did not even ask to do that ride.

I am sooo sooo sorry!!!

I just want to tell everyone I am so sorry about our blog. I (Brittany) have been out of town and have had no internet access so Rocky took over and i am so sorry. But I will admit, I have been laughing reading what my dear sweet loving husband has been writing. The reason why our blog sucks and has no pics is because I am the one with the camera. Pictures should be available in one week (I am going to Bear lake for that week). Because I will be gone and Rocky will be home I have no control of what he will be writing so agian, I am sorry for anything he says! Enjoy!

New House!!

We've finally gotten moved in and actually spent the night last night in our new house! It was a lot of fun, although we also found out the neighbors have a really annoying dog that barks and whines all night! I had a lab that used to do that and ticked off my neighbors, so I guess it's coming back to haunt me. I'll get some pictures of the new place posted. You'll be able to see before and after pictures as we're doing a lot of work...especially on the yard.

New Management

The Watt Family Blog is now under new management. Stay tuned as the Rockshow himself is now at the helm. Upcoming features may include fishing reports, fantasy sports trackers, bad golf advice, a return of the term "buddies", and a "Where in the world is Matt Glenn?" forum. (Important to note that these features are subject to review by "the one wearing the pants", also known as Brittany. Although as I am typing this, neither of us has pants on... yahtzee!...she'll kill me for publishing that)

I would like to leave a little editorial piece for you to read/ponder as well. I apologize ahead of time for this rant, but it's been driving me crazy.

Some of you may have heard about the softball player who was carried around the bases after hitting a home run, but blowing her knee out after MISSING FIRST BASE and having to retreat back to touch it. I read a column by Bob Lonsberry the next day that talked about this event and how this is an example of the "wussification of America". I have to say that I whole-heartedly agree with him. This girl had never hit a home run in her softball career, and to be honest...she still hasn't. She may have hit the ball over the fence, but that act alone does not constitute a homerun. She could not complete the journey around the bases, and rules state if the runner cannot make it all the way around, a pinch runner can be called in, counting the hit as a single instead of a home run. Instead of following the rules of the game, THE OPPOSING TEAM carried the girl around the bases, thus eliminating themselves (she was the game winning run) from contention. Is this truly good sportsmanship? Negating the rules to create a "feel good" ending? I think it's this exact attitude that is killing America. Another example of this is how little league baseball has stopped having all-star teams so that kids that don't make the team "don't feel bad". Are you kidding me? What about the kids that have worked hard to excel? Should they not get credit for their hard work? This whole system is stupid. If you play a game, you have a winner and a loser, period. Yes, losing sucks, but it's part of the game so deal with it. If you can't deal with losing, don't play. This whole "coddle the fat kid" attitude is ridiculous, and it's only going to get worse if we don't straighten up. A little competition has never hurt anyone, but trying to hide from it has. If you don't know how to compete for things in life, you're doomed to failure. Stop the wussification of America!

McCall Idaho

For the Watt Family Vacation we went to McCall Idaho. The place was amazing but the drive was horrible. It was the longest drive Brylie has ever been on but she did really well, we were so proud of her. The cabin we stayed in was very very nice ( I wouldn't mind if it was our house). While there, the older Watts went river rafting. We say older because Brylie couldn't go on it so we went swimming instead! We also went on a hike. It was Brylie's first attempt at a hike and she did really well. If you ask her she says "I went on a hike and saw bear poop but I never want to go on another hike!" We had fun but we are glad to be home!

So we are not really sure how to do this... so here it goes...Oh and in advance I am apologizing for any misspelled words!

We are married and are currently living at my parents house until we can close on our house which will hopefully be on Thursday, so everyone cross your fingers! We love being a little family even though it doesn't really feel like it right now cause we are crammed in one room. Poor Rocky is living out of a suitcase, it is actually pretty sad but we will get through it. We went to Hawaii for our Honeymoon and had a blast! My favorite thing was the beach and how soft the sand was. Rocky's favorite was the snorkeling, he loved all the little creatures. So that is basically all for our offically first blog......
